Obtaining a 911 address is very important for existing and future property developments including both residential and business. The Sequatchie County E-911 Addressing Department is responsible for maintaining accurate E911 address and Road information. A correct and updated E911 address is important so that it can be verified. This allows first responders and emergency personnel to locate you faster in the event of an emergency. It is also used by local utilities and local mail providers when providing access to their services.

Please note that the E911 Mapping Department does NOT address bare land or temporary structures. The State of Tennessee sets forth that an address can be every 5.28 feet. This is why an address is assigned to the entry point of your driveway. Once a 911 address is assigned, maps begin to get populated both locally and at a state level. Adding temporary or vacant property addresses would clutter maps and possibly cause time sensitive delays in emergency responses when officers are trying to locate a marked driveway or building.

One of the most important and commonly overlooked steps that you, as a Sequatchie County Resident, can do is to post your correct 911 address so that it is visible to emergency responders. By correctly marking your Mailbox, House or Driveway, emergency responders can avoid unnecessary searching that wastes time, and Time Saves Lives!
